65 year old woman not able to sit on her buttocks because of pain

A 65 year old woman came to me with the complaints of not able to sit on her buttocks because of pain. Clinically there was tenderness (pain on deep touch) over the ischial bone (the bone we sit on).

X -rays were non-conclusive- there was no fracture or any other bony pathology.

Ultrasonography ruled out any infection or tumor.

Provisional diagnosis of ischial bursitis was done.

She was given prolotherapy injection in the bursa and was called for follow-up after 3 weeks.

The woman literally touched my feet and wept tears of joy because she had such a great pain relief. Now she was able to sit pain free after 3 years.
