62 year old man came with complaints of pain in and around the private parts

A 62 year old man came with complaints of pain in and around the private parts, especially the anus. He was operated for cancer of the rectum and had a permanent colostomy bag.

He had undergone chemotherapy and radiation for the disease.

After thorough evaluation, he underwent sympathetic ganglion RadioFrequency Ablation of the Ganglion Impar. He was called for follow up after a month.

On the day of the follow-up, his son called me to tell that they will not be able to come, since his father, the patient, died 2 days back due a heart attack. He was very grateful and told me that he, the patient was pain free when he died.
